Duties:

SUMMARY

Prince William Sound College has a large service area with a main campus in Valdez, and extension campuses in Cordova and Glennallen.  Our college provides a wide variety non-credit professional development and special interest courses at each service area.

Individuals interested in providing instruction for one or more non-credit course or workshop are to apply to this requisition. If you are applying to teach a specific course or workshop, please mention this in a prominent place in your resume or cover letter.

JOB DUTIES                        

Provide instruction for professional development and training, personal enrichment, or university access and college success non-credit, non-transcripted courses.

Professional Development & training courses are offerings which help students develop skills that can be used in the workforce, and support professional certification requirements.

Personal enrichment classes and events range from arts and crafts to skill building workshops. These offerings are different from professional development offerings in that they are developed for personal enrichment, or to introduce and/or prepare learners for more rigorous professional development and for-credit courses.

University access and college success offerings are those which help prepare students for future academic success.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES/EXPERIENCE:

Candidates will be evaluated on suitability of their academic preparation, past teaching experience, and potential for providing high quality instruction to students and community members. Expertise and experience relevant to the effective teaching of the specific topic.

Non-credit course instructors are expected to provide credentials pertaining to subject matter and display confident knowledge of the course material.
