The postdoctoral researcher will join the team of an NSF-funded project that provides and studies in-person and online professional development to informal educators in the context of STEAM.
The University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in the learning sciences or a closely related field. The postdoctoral researcher will join the team of an NSF-funded project that provides in-person and online professional development to informal educators in the context of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math). The project aims to study the ways in which educators take up effective, identity and equity-based STEAM practices and apply them to their work. The incumbent will work in an interdisciplinary team of natural scientists, artists, and learning scientists from UAF, the University of Washington, Bothell, the UA Museum of the North, and the National Optical Astronomy Observatory. The position has a flexible start date as early as January 2019.

Required Education and Experience:
Ph.D. degree (already received, or has completed all requirements and awaiting graduation) with an emphasis in Learning Sciences or a related field. Preference will be given to those with experience with museums, libraries, or other informal learning venues.

Non-Represented Staff (Probationary Period):
Pursuant to University Regulation 04.07.020, new employees of the University are employed in an at-will probationary status for the first six months of employment. During the probationary period, employment may be terminated for no reason or any reason. Promoted employees also serve a probationary period with limited rights of retreat.
This position is a term-funded position through June 30, 2019, and is reviewed annually for contract renewal at the University's discretion.
