POSITION: UAA - Temporary Professional
The University of Alaska Anchorage School of Allied Health responds to the lifelong learning needs of the community by developing and providing certificate and degree programs in several areas of allied health. The School of Allied Health Director and administrative staff provide oversight to the school's departments and serves students in their respective academic fields. Departments within the School are Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene, Fire and Emergency Services, Medical Assisting, Medical Laboratory Science, Radiography Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Pharmacy Technology.
Perform administrative functions for the department.
Knowledge of Allied Health Sciences programs preferred. Professional office experience in higher education setting preferred. UAA Procedure and Policy knowledge preferred. Banner Student preferred.

Professional level knowledge in area of expertise. Computer skills. Ability to analyze and solve problems. Strong interpersonal skills. Possession of a strong sense of accountability and discretion. Problem solving skills exhibiting capable, independent judgment and initiative. Ability to work with limited supervision and function well as part of a team. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to follow directions. Excellent oral and written communication skills with proper English diction, usage, grammar, punctuation and spelling. Proficiency in a wide variety of computer software applications to include Microsoft Office Suite for IBM compatible computers.
Excellent time management and organizational skills. Attention to detail. Previous experience with office equipment to include computers, printers, copiers, telephones, voice mail systems and fax machines.
Professional office experience required with emphasis in reception and clerical skills.
TYPICAL EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
High School graduation and one year office/administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
SALARY: Temporary Staff Grade 73; Minimum $12.77/hour; Part-Time
