While performing the duties of this job, employee is frequently required to stand, walk, lift and labor.

12 month/year position, 40 hours/week, $17.64/hour. Scheduled work shift is 12:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m., Monday - Thursday, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Fridays. Position requires flexibility which will include evening and weekend hours. Employee benefits and employee tuition waivers included. Union represented, dues collected per paycheck.
L6070- At-will: Pursuant to Article 1.7 of the Local 6070 Collective Bargaining Agreement, upon initial hire Local 6070 Bargaining Unit Members are probationary for the first six (6) months of work. During the probationary period, employment may be terminated for no reason or any reason.

Successful candidate will provide custodial services, minor and routine painting, plumbing, and other related maintenance and labor services to the Kenai Peninsula College.
Perform floor maintenance including sweeping, mopping, carpet cleaning, floor stripping and waxing.
Remove trash from rooms and buildings.
Operate vehicles including maintenance vehicles, snow removal equipment and yard maintenance equipment.
Change light bulbs , change air filters and lubricate mechanical equipment.
Perform task in a safe manner including responding to and cleaning up potential biohazards and body fluids with an appropriate disinfection material.
Paint both interior and exterior of the buildings.
Perform ground maintenance including but not limited to removal of snow and ice from the exterior paths, walkways, and parking lots, lawn and plant care and other exterior maintenance.
Assist facilities maintenance as assigned in laborer capacity.
Performs custodial services, maintains facilities, minor and routine painting, plumbing, and other related maintenance activities.
Maintains facilities, grounds landscaping and appurtenances, including snow and debris removal.
Sets up and operates hand tools and equipment, motorized equipment, l tools and equipment, and small to medium sized trucks, tractors, or vehicles.
Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins and performs periodic inventories.
May be required to act as a Lead for other similarly classified employees and/or employees in lower classifications.
Other duties as assigned.
Must possess strong customer service skills, interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills to work effectively with a diverse population of customers and fellow employees.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to complete forms, institutional paper work, training and other necessary administrative tasks in both a hard paper and electronic digital format.
Knowledge and ability to use hand tools, including brooms, mops, brushes and shovels to complete assigned custodial tasks.

Demonstrated work history in positions of responsibility and trust. Experience performing ground maintenance including but not limited to removal of snow and ice from the exterior paths,
walkways, and parking lots, lawn and plant care, sweeping and other exterior maintenance. Experience in commercial facilities custodial tasks, including bathroom cleaning and sanitation, floor, wall and furniture cleaning, and removing trash and hazards that may be present in the building.
Experience in use of manual and power commercial cleaning equipment including floor scrubber, carpet extractors, vacuums, mops, brooms and brushes.
Experience working around chemicals commonly used when cleaning commercial/ institutional facilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
Experience performing tasks in a safe manner including responding to and cleaning up potential biohazards and body fluids with an appropriate disinfection material.
Experience in general labor assignments such as operating and maintaining commercial facilities.
Experience operating vehicles, snow removal equipment, yard maintenance equipment.
Education and Training:
High school graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Applicant must possess a current, unrestricted Alaska driver's license or be able to obtain an unrestricted Alaska driver's license within 60 days of accepting the job. In addition, the applicant must meet UAA's safe driving criteria
