Currently hiring students who love UAA and are passionate about sharing their knowledge of the university with prospective and incoming students. Come work with a fun group of students and share your enthusiasm for your school while giving tours of the campus, representing UAA at local high schools, and being the face of this awesome university!
10 Ambassadors will be required to attend various functions at local high schools and are expected to interact with a diverse population of students, teachers, and parents. Essential
45 Ambassadors will work directly with Admissions Staff. This position will last the entire academic school year and through the summer. Students are expected to work at least 10 hours a week Monday-Friday, with occasional weekend responsibilities. Specific weekly schedules can be coordinated with the Student Recruiter. Essential
45 Student Ambassadors are expected to give thorough and in depth campus tours, contact prospective students via email or phone calls, give presentations both one-on-one and in large group settings, learn the customer relations management system (CRM) and input data, answer basic questions regarding financial aid and direct students to the appropriate resources, and get prospective students and incoming students excited about UAA and all that it has to offer! Admissions Tour Guide
Primary Goals- To encourage prospective students to choose the University of Alaska Anchorage as their college choice. To represent UAA and be the face of the university to incoming students and their parents.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities- Initiative, enthusiasm, energy, knowledge of the UAA campus, organizational skills, ability to work with a diverse student population, comfortability with public speaking. Student Ambassadors must be dependable, outgoing, and possess the ability to listen, problem solve, and react quickly. Must have an in depth knowledge of student life and opportunities around campus for incoming students such as student clubs. Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Eligibility- To be eligible for student employment, an applicant must have earned and continue to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. Students must work at least 10 hours a week Monday-Friday, have taken a minimum of 30 credits within the UA system, and be a currently enrolled student taking 12 credits or more. Students must also pass a background check.
