The University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) is seeking a self-motivated individual interested in serving as a Data Manager in support of our the Alaska College of Education. The College provides leadership throughout Alaska in coordination and alignment of teacher preparation and educational leadership degree programs. The College works collaboratively with sister universities within the UA system to meet strategic goals of increasing the number of quality educators for Alaska's schools. The position is located in Juneau, Alaska's capital city--a community of 30,000 with rich cultural and arts opportunities and a beautiful natural setting. 40 Contribute to a variety of projects to increase UAS Institutional Effectiveness workload capacity. Provide support and collaborate with Alaska College of Education Executive Dean to build a strategic plan, ensuring compliance with UAS, UAA, and UAF programs. Essential
60 Alaska College of Education system-wide decision support: Developing automated and static reports on UAS, UAA, and UAF education programs to support the AKCoE Executive Dean. This includes reports on program history, early semester reporting, enrollment funnel analysis, section enrollment, program enrollment, financial aid, faculty and staff, faculty workloads and productivity, awards and graduates, alumni, budgets, administrative management support (e.g. open encumbrances, transaction details), and grants awarded.
Accountability Reporting: Developing reports to support the AKCoE Executive Dean with accountability reporting to AK Legislature (e.g. SB241), BoR/UA System (e.g. 90% by 2025).
AKCoE Professional Accreditation: Developing reports and analyzing data as needed to support professional accreditation (e.g. CAEP).
AKCoE/DEED Reporting: Developing reports to support the AKCoE Executive Dean in collaborative efforts with DEED focused on improving the culture of education in Alaska.
AKCoE/School District Reporting: Developing reports to support the AKCoE Executive Dean in collaborative efforts with school districts throughout Alaska focused on improving the culture of education in Alaska Essential
Required Education & Experience
Master's degree from an accredited university or college in a related field; Or equivalent combination of training and experience for example, if you do not have a degree, 7-8 years of experience will be required for this position.
1-2 years of research experience in a relevant field (education, data science, etc.).
Advanced knowledge of research and reporting methods
A career goal to become an expert on data collection at a higher education institution
Advanced skills in accurate data collection methods, analysis, and reporting
Effective communication skills
Ability to provide tactful customer service
Experience working successfully with people of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds is preferred
This is a full time, exempt staff,
Grade 80, position with both a competitive salary and full benefits package. The Research Manager position will report to our Director of Institutional Effectiveness. This position will remain open until filled, with initial applicant screening taking place after January 3, 2018.
