Applications are invited for the position of Interim Dean, College of Natural Science and Mathematics, University of Alaska Fairbanks.

The term of this position is initially planned to extend from the date of hire (on completion of the search or January 3, 2018, whichever is later) through June 30, 2018, but the term may be extended by mutual agreement. The interim dean will be the chief executive officer of the College of Natural Science and Mathematics, reporting to the Provost. The interim dean will have responsibility for leading the College and managing its resources to achieve its mission. The interim dean will oversee the programs of the college, and their instructional, research, and service/outreach activities. Because most CNSM faculty have split appointments, with part of their positions being housed within a research institute, the interim dean will need to work collaboratively with the research institute directors on matters of faculty supervision and on decisions concerning new faculty hires. The interim dean will be charged with all aspects of the college's external engagement, including fund raising, developing partnerships, and enhancing the image and reputation of the school in the state and region.
