Position Summary:

This position at Northwest Campus provides day to day support for campus personnel and serves as the main resource for personnel, payroll, travel and front desk support.

Duties:

10Supervision - Trains, evaluates performance and initiates corrective action, or effectively recommends these actions. Provides day-to-day guidance, training and direction for Adminitrative Services staff in addition to other duties. Regularly assigns and reviews work. Is fluent in assigned area of responsibility.Essential
15Administrative Services Functions - Directs operations and supervises staff in Administrative Services who manage front desk operations, receipt of money, equipment/room rentals, room scheduling, security lock-up, public assistance, and maintenance of phone system, copier, postal and fax machines. Maintains administrative files.Essential
15Travel - Coordinate and process in and out of state travel requests to include air and ground transportation, hotels, rentals, registration fees, etc. for staff. Track TA''s, process receipts, and calculate expenditures. Reconcile accounts to ensure travel expenses are encumbered on appropriate accounts.Essential
60Personnel/Human Resources - Primary PPA for Northwest Campus. Assist with and process recruitments. Responsible for all new hire paperwork and staff contracts. Does orientation of staff, remote printing of reports, maintain personnel files and archive, work with supervisors on orientation of new employees, recruitment, advertisement, annual evaluations,disciplinary problems, leave usage, PD updates, and maintains pool positions. Responsible for preparing all office job forms for personnel actions & maintenance. Plan and initiate hiring needs with appropriate approvals. Staff delegate on screening committees. Works closely with UAF HR department. Works with Campus Director on personnel issues/costs.Essential

This position at Northwest Campus provides day to day support for campus personnel and serves as a main resource for personnel, payroll, travel and front desk support.

It is a 37.5 hours/week, 10.5-month position with full benefits, including tuition waivers.

Ability to provide confidentiality and personnel support; Ability to handle multiple tasks; Ability to train staff; Basic Fiscal skills; Ability to work successfully as a member of a team.

Required Experience:

Three years progressively responsible office/administrative experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Typical Education or Training:

Some college coursework and one-year office/administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience; Or three years progressively responsible office/administrative experience.

Probationary Period:

Pursuant to University Regulation 04.07.020, new employees of the University are employed in an at-will probationary status for the first six months of employment.   During the probationary period, employment may be terminated for no reason or any reason. Promoted employees also serve a probationary period with limited rights of retreat.
