Do you want to help put on concerts, dances, and other epic activities for your fellow students, while learning the ins and outs of event management? Do you want to work with entertainers and musicians from around the country? Then Student Activities Board is the place for you! We are currently looking for students to join our team as a Graphic Arts Specialist. The successful applicant will support the Board with a focus on graphic arts needs for various campus events. This is a great opportunity to gain professional work experience, while attending classes.
100 The Graphic Arts Specialist must be able to create marketing materials with one or more design software programs (i.e. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.). Design digital and print marketing materials for events including: flyers, posters, handbills, banners, etc. They will deal with performers, agents, UAS departments, and Board members to ensure the effectiveness of planned promotions.
Specialized tasks with skills to be developed include the planning, promotion, facilitation, evaluation, and reporting of campus wide events. Essential

Student Employment Requirements
Must be a UAS student enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours throughout employment duration.
Maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA throughout employment duration.

The event proposal should be a one-page pitch for a new event at UAS. Include all the following event elements: event title, description, date, time, location, advertising plan, proposed budget, why SAB should put on this event, and what students will get out of participating. Graphics Art Sample (Campus Kickoff )
Description: The annual UAS Campus Kickoff will feature over 50 interactive booths, including UAS clubs, departments, Juneau businesses and non-profit organizations. It is the largest involvement fair of the year. Music, food, and games will be provided. This event is free for all UAS students, staff, and faculty and is hosted by the UAS Campus Life team. It is sponsored by UAS Student Government. The purpose of the event is to: welcome new and returning students to campus; connect students with resources and involvement opportunities; and provide a venue for students to make meaningful connections with their peers.
Friday of the Fall Semester Time:

NOTICE: Students must maintain enrollment and regular attendance for a minimum of at least 6 undergraduate credit hours or 6 graduate credit hours to be exempt from FICA (Social Security and Medicare) tax. A credit hour load below the minimum required for full-time student status will require the withholding of FICA tax (non-resident aliens on an appropriate visa who meet student employment criteria will continue to be exempt from FICA regardless of credit hour load). While in a student position, a student cannot hold any other type of simultaneous employment with the university.
