Under the direction of the Dean of the Community & Technical College (CTC), and in close collaboration with the Vice Provost for Student Success, the CTC Associate Dean for Student Success provides leadership and vision for the Student Success Plan (SSP) of CTC; provides leadership and vision for the UAA Learning Commons and Testing Center; and works collaboratively with college leadership, faculty and staff to incorporate data-informed decision-making into the implementation, supervision, and evaluation of Student Success Plan elements appropriate to the assigned areas of responsibility. Will be required to teach up to 9 credits annually in one of the College's programs or departments. Perform other duties as assigned.
10 Identify and share emerging trends and best practices in higher education student success. Essential
10 Provide overall leadership and vision for the Learning Commons (LC) and Testing Center. Supervise the LC Manger. Provides professional development opportunities through the LC for faculty and staff. Essential
10 Serves as the college''s liaison with the University''s Care Team and the Dean of Students; Office on matters relating to CTC students. Essential
10 Serves on the College''s Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) Committee. Essential
20 Provide overall leadership and vision for the college Student Success Plan (SSP). Using institutional data and in close collaboration with the Vice Provost for Student Success, creates and implements strategies to achieve College and University-wide goals for student retention and completion. 20 Teach up to 9 credits annually in one of the College''s programs or departments. Essential
20 Works closely with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, program Directors, department chairs and faculty to ensure continuous improvement in the teaching and learning aspects of the college''s mission. Essential
Evidence of a commitment to Student Success.
Demonstrated effectiveness in leading and motivating college faculty and staff in adaptations to improve student success. Demonstrated experience of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background and ability of UAA students.
Four or more years of successful full-time experience and/or academic administration at the postsecondary level.
Experience with developmental education and general education. At least one year of experience in a supervisory role.
Typical Education or Training:
Minimum of a Master's Degree from a regionally accredited university in a discipline appropriate to one of the areas within the Community and Technical College.
Preferred Doctoral Degree from a regionally accredited university.
