Position Summary:

UAF's Office of the Registrar seeks a well-qualified Systems & Data Specialist. This position provides technical expertise to support registration, transfer credit, academic scheduling, and graduation.

Duties:

15Serve as Student Security Coordinator for anyone asking for access to Student information in UAF systems. Receive requests, determine appropriate security classes based on the employee''s job duties at UAF; communicate with the employee''s supervisor regarding access; grant or deny access as appropriate. Work with the Registrar and the management team to ensure proper security protocols are followed. Monitor terminations list and terminate access at the appropriate time.Essential
25Develop a data request and tracking process for both internal (UAF) and external requests. Prioritize requests; write queries against Banner, DegreeWorks and other data sources; perform some statistical analysis on data as requested; format for clarity and utility by end user. Develop queries and provide to staff and faculty for use across UAF departments.Essential
30Assess the training needed by Registrar staff, and by departments across UAF on Registrar-related systems. Develop training to be delivered in-person and online. Develop documentation to be used during training and as reference materials. Deliver training and/or "train the trainer." Serve as an expert resource on systems for campus community.Essential
30Provide leadership and direction on systems (and systems integration) within the Office of the Registrar. Assist Registrar in long-term planning for technology needs. Provide guidance to management team on solutions for streamlining and automating processes. Write task requests and work with system admins to modify systems as necessary. Oversee testing of Banner, OnBase, DegreeWorks and other systems. Represent the Office of the Registrar on statewide technology-focused work teams.Essential

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or equivalent/comparable field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Experience in computer operating systems; the ability to understand and operate a variety of computer applications and equipment. 
5 years' experience in the workforce with 2 years experience in a data analyst type role.

Probationary Period:
 
Pursuant to University Regulation 04.07.020, new employees of the University are employed in an at-will probationary status for the first six months of employment. During the probationary period, employment may be terminated for no reason or any reason. Promoted employees also serve a probationary period with limited rights of retreat.
