Act as the Kenai Peninsula College Purchasing Officer. Acquisition of all goods and services over $5,000 and up to $10,000. Review procurement requests and prepare purchase orders that are in compliance with University, State and Federal regulations. Develop specifications, solicit quotations/proposals, negotiate vendor terms/conditions, evaluate responses and awards. Monitor vendor performance, ensure compliance with timelines, deliverables and budget requirements, resolves disputes. Review and sign vendor contracts within signature authority. Experience:- Five years relevant experience in an accounting position that includes development and management of budgets with multiple-funding sources within a computerized accounting system. - Experience in a position where accuracy in handling detailed work requires analytical and problem solving skills, and which requires the ability to seek alternative solutions to obstacles and the initiative to problem solve. - Computer experience in Microsoft Office programs: word processing, spreadsheets, data bases, email management. - Advanced Excel spreadsheet experience.
Knowledge and experience in accounting and budget management in an education setting.
