The UAS Sitka Campus is accepting applications for temporary, part-time adjunct faculty. Adjunct positions are on a semester-by-semester contract basis, and governed by a collective bargaining agreement. Salary is defined in the collective bargaining agreement and based on the number of previous semesters teaching experience at the University of Alaska. Applicants MUST be available to work within Alaska DURING the semester employed. Job posting will remain open throughout the 2017-18 academic year.
Prepare syllabus; teach one or more courses consistent with student learning outcomes and assessment methods; design curriculum; prepare lesson plans; evaluate student learning; provide timely feedback to students; hold office hours or be available for contact with students. Essential
The Sitka Campus invites applications from qualified individuals interested in helping students attain their educational goals. Instruction method will be either online or face-to-face, or a combination of both. We are looking to increase our adjunct faculty pool in the following subject areas:
Fisheries Technology (online)
Other GER content areas

Knowledge of accepted instruction methods.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Customer service skills.
Experience relevant to effectively teach in content area.
EDUCATION OR TRAINING REQUIRED:
Master’s degree relevant to content area; or terminal degree based on content area.
Minimum of Master’s degree required to teach General Education Requirement (GER) courses.
