Matanuska-Susitna College (MSC) is seeking an Assistant Professor of General Business - Tenure Track. This is a bipartite (no research requirement) position. Candidates will need to be capable of teaching courses in business, economics and/or finance. The successful candidate must be available to start August 2018 and able to teach the courses face-to-face on the Mat-Su College campus.
Mat-Su College is a community campus of the University of Alaska Anchorage. The campus is located on 951 acres in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, the fastest growing region of Alaska. We serve as a major higher education hub for the communities of Wasilla and Palmer. Our student-friendly campus offers small class sizes and state-of-the-art facilities, including paramedic classrooms with a fully equipped ambulance bay, updated science labs, and a new 520-seat performing arts theater, the first in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley. The campus has an annual operating budget of nearly $11,000,000 and employs nearly one hundred full-time faculty and staff and more than one hundred adjunct instructors to serve approximately 2,000 students each semester.

Candidates will be evaluated on suitability of their graduate-level academic coursework and preparation, past teaching experiences, expertise and experience relevant to the effective teaching of their specific field, and potential for providing high-quality instruction to undergraduate students in assigned courses at Mat-Su College.
Evidence of successful business teaching and/or professional business experience.
Typical Education and Training
Successful candidates will have a Master’s degree or higher in business or a closely related field from an AACSB accredited school. PhD or equivalent in business related field is strongly preferred and professional experience may substitute for graduate-level coursework.
Teach 100- and 200-level general business courses to undergraduate college students following the approved UAA course content guide;
Prepare syllabus consistent with approved UAA course content guide;
Prepare instruction appropriate to student learning outcomes and class delivery mode, e.g. face-to-face, blended, on-line;
Evaluate student learning;
Provide timely feedback to students on their learning;
Respond to student questions about the class in a timely manner;
Submit final grades on-time;
Hold regular office hours appropriate for the courses being taught; and,
Engage in University, professional and/or community service.
Workload will normally consist of: 80% teaching (12 credits per semester) and 20% service to the university, community and discipline.
