Position Summary:

UAA Center for Human Development/Alaska Training Cooperative promotes healthcare and behavioral health career development opportunities for direct support professionals, supervisors and professionals in the field engaged with the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority beneficiaries by ensuring that training technical assistance and training is accessible and coordinated. The IS Ops Technician level 3 provides the project management and in-house support for the Learning Management System (LMS) and other technical skills needed to maintain the AKTC's workforce training mission.

Duties:

10As a member of the technology team, provide back-up support for LMS users and training coordinators by email and phone, Zoom meeting scheduling, and Constant Contact email advertising. Ability to troubleshoot customer technical challenges.Essential
10Primary support for the Moodle content delivery system including setting up classes, uploading class resources, linking with the LMS, creating post-pre evaluations, monitoring and supporting enrollments.Essential
20In-house support of AKTC/AHEC Learning Management System (LMS) providing 2nd level technical support for issues including testing, suggesting possible solutions, passing issues on to the developer, maintaining a log of in-progress tasks and tracking progress on solutions. Monitors, tests and analyzes LMS operation functions and resolve significant operational problems.Essential
20Maintain a calendar of required reports for AKTC/AHEC projects. Use SQL queries to pull data from the LMS, format data to meeting project needs and pass on to the responsible staff person for incorporation in their final report. Coordinate with developer for data that requires their intervention. Stage production runs and maintain production schedule.Essential
25Project management of AKTC/AHEC LMS, serving as liaison between staff and the database developer determining needed functionality, assessing proposed solutions, and monitoring progress. Maintain accuracy of SQL database information and ability to troubleshoot.Essential
5Keep up on current technology trends.Essential
5Manage tech-related contract renewals and subscriptions, including maintaining a calendar of renewals and submitting purchasing information.Essential
5Update and maintain AKTC/AHEC LMS websites, the AKTC website, and the AKTC page in the CHD section of the UAA website. Create, update, and modify print marketing materials for the AKTC and its projects.Essential

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Advanced knowledge of communication systems,diagnostic techniques, practice and procedures for a wide range of computer systems, platforms, applications, data communications, service tracking and other applications used in help desk services.  Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to train and support staff to identify and resolve or refer operational problems in data processing, computer operations systems and related technology.   Demonstrated problem solving skills in areas of data processing functions and computer operations.   Ability to maintain security integrity.  Ability to maintain hardware and software. Ability to monitor, test and analyze computer operation functions.  Ability to maintain accuracy of database informants and reports. Ability to stage productions runs and maintains production/project schedules.

Required Experience:

• Required: Mid-level Microsoft SQL server experience including executing queries for searching, updating records, and pulling reports.

• Required: Project management skills, including specifying project needs, tracking progress, and ongoing communication.

• Preferred: Experience with learning management, content delivery systems, and online delivery systems (such as Moodle or Blackboard).

• Preferred: Proficient in HTML, CSS with experience in Javascript, Wordpress or other content management systems.

• Preferred: Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator CS6 or newer.

• Preferred: Ability to manage and update existing websites.

• Preferred: Strong, responsive communication skills (written and verbal).

• Preferred: Experience providing support for people of varying levels of abilities and experience.

Typical Education or Training:

Associates degree in a relevant field (i.e. information technology or other related field) and 3 years experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Salary:  $23.60/hour (full-time, non-exempt)
