Position Summary:

The Office of Admissions is looking for an organized, responsive student service professional to join our team! This position primarily reviews and processes applications for admission to the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Duties:

15FUNCTION #3: PROJECTS, TRAINING AND UPGRADES Assist leadership to develop and implement strategies for process improvement. Research solutions and bring new ideas to the table. Take part in regular system testing for upgrades and make recommendations for improvements. Lead regular semester and annual clean-up projects. Assist with the training of new student assistants, staff members and academic department personnel.Essential
25FUNCTION #2: COMMUNICATIONS Serve as a primary resource for all things admissions. Assist students, faculty and staff via phone, email and in person. Troubleshoot problems, answer questions and provide direction within the guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Act as a liaison to the various academic departments and assist administrative personnel with the review of graduate application materials. Work with recruitment to coach prospective applicants through the admission process. Assist in the office phone queue to answer general questions pertaining to admission, scheduling, registration, graduation and transfer credit.Essential
60FUNCTION #1: REVIEW AND PROCESS APPLICATIONS FOR ADMISSION Independently determine decisions for admission by evaluating transcripts, test scores, and supplemental documents. Incoming applications will be divided among three admission coordinators by applicant type; each coordinator will be responsible for the admission of their applicant type, and the positions will rotate to ensure expertise in all areas. In addition to decisions, file review may include document authentication, international credit conversion, GPA recalculation, residency approval and determining scholarship eligibility.Essential

Position Summary:
The University of Alaska Fairbanks is accepting applications for the position of Admissions Coordinator. This position independently determines decisions for admission by evaluating transcripts, test scores, and supplemental documents. The Admissions Coordinator will serve on a team of three that processes all incoming applications for admission to the University of Alaska Fairbanks. This position provides guidance and assistance campus-wide for admissions questions — ranging from application processing to transcripts and test scores. The Office of Admissions is dedicated to improving accessibility to Higher Education by advocating for and empowering students to find success through an innovative, equitable, and inclusive admissions and transitions process. We promote a college going culture through strategic recruitment and communication, community outreach, responsive processing, and an engaging orientation.

Required Experience:
Two years of experience in education, business or a related field. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Typical Education or Training:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
