The Institute of Arctic Biology (IAB) is seeking a qualified Research Technician to work as the Laboratory Manager for the Bonanza Creek Long Term Ecological Research group.

10 Assist IS Technician by preparing articles and photographs for upload to website. Essential
10 Assist research technician with data analysis and data presentation including organizing data and assisting with interpretation of results. Essential
10 Maintain and update the LTER bibliography, data entry as required. Essential
10 Summer field work-Long-term monitoring of vegetation and climate. Essential
15 Lab work including analysis of tree growth by counting tree rings, grinding and weighing tree needles, sorting and weighing seeds, germinating seeds, and other LTER lab work as required. Essential
20 Create and maintain an LTER herbarium using Microsoft Access. This includes collecting and pressing specimens and entering information into a database. Essential
20 Organize and maintain the BECRU lab to include buying field and lab supplies, mailing journal reprints, collecting and distributing lab mail. Essential
5 Train all student assistants in seed sorting, handling herbarium specimens, and lab safety. Essential

: Term Position This position is a term-funded position and is reviewed annually for contract renewal at the University's discretion.
