Serve as a reading and/or mathematics tutor for children who are preschool age or are in elementary school (grade K-7) or perform
family literacy activities in a family literacy project that provides services to families with preschool age children or elementary school children. This type of employment allows students to help children
develop reading or mathematics skills necessary for their education and future employment. The student will work with a high degree of
independence after initial instructions. Must use discretion and maintain confidentiality regarding school matters, and posses the ability to master a variety of complex issues as well as working with a
variety of personalities.
Applicants must have transportation, as position is located off campus in the community.
Additional position details
Students majoring in English, Mathematics or Education are preferred.

Previous tutoring experience in English, reading or mathematics is desired.
Type and length of experience required for this position
A mandatory background check will be required due to working with
pre-school and elementary school age children.
Transportation to local elementary schools is needed.

Student must be eligible for Federal Work-Study (apply via the FAFSA)
Strong knowledge in English, reading and/or mathematics.
This is a Student Assistant C; minimum starting pay $10.50.
