Position Summary:

The Statewide Office of Audit and Consulting Services is seeking a Student Assistant C to assist the internal audit staff with their responsibilities.

Duties:

10Special projects such as updating the electronic work papers system and assisting with research on audit topics.Essential
25Assisting with the follow-up of results from our continuous controls monitoring project.Essential
5Assisting on regularly scheduled audits of cash receipts and procurement card usage.Essential
60Performing follow-up audit procedures.Essential

Additional position details

Works under general direction.
Examples of typical work include: performing follow-up audit procedures, assisting on regularly scheduled audits of cash receipts and procurement card usage; updating the electronic work papers system; assisting with research on audit topics; and assisting with the follow-up of results from our continuous controls monitoring project. These activities are accomplished by a combination of:
-Follow an established written program.
-Perform account analysis.
-Test for appropriate use.
-Test for compliance with relevant policy and procedures.
-Identify areas for improvement.
-Draft formal report conveying findings and recommendations.

Junior or senior level student enrolled in a School of Management academic program.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position

Junior or senior level student enrolled in a School of Management academic program.  Strong skills in analytical writing and spreadsheets are preferred.
