Position Summary:

Duties:

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Understanding and utilizing the prospective student software for data entry, conveying information, and sending communications. Ability to speak clearly and distinctly through telecommunication and in person. Provide accurate information with professionalism. Ability to engage in natural conversation using open-ended questioning techniques. A positive attitude must be conveyed at all times.
 
Experience in data entry and proofreading preferred. Provide accurate information with professionalism. Ability to engage in natural conversation using open-ended questioning techniques. Possess a positive attitude at all times. 
 
Please include any and all languages that you are fluent in conversation.

Required Experience:

Knowledge of the UAA campus and student activities are required. Ability to carry on a natural conversation using an open-ended questioning technique. Accurate keyboarding skills and attention for detail and thoroughness. Motivated to work and adheres to a weekly work schedule.
Ability to communicate scheduling and various other issues to the supervisor. Comfortable in communicating clear, courteous, and professional in-person presentation of UAA to prospective students and their family members. Ability to follow directions, make phone calls, and answer questions professionally.
 
To be eligible for student employment, an applicant must:
                a.  Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the         
                      current semester of employment; or
                 b. Have been enrolled in the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and 
                     demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for 
                     employment between semesters
                 c. Have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or approval from the MAU 
                     Senior Student Services officer or his/her designee.
                 d. Students enrolled in non-traditional programs of study will be considered eligible for 
                      student employment with the approval of the Senior Student Services officer.
                 e. An applicant must provide evidence of enrollment as outlined above to substantiate
                      employment eligibility
 
Summary

Our Student Recruitment Ambassadors welcome future Seawolves to our campus through tours and a wide range of other events throughout the year. The ideal student must love being a Seawolf and are excited to show off our campus to future students. Have excitement about being a student at UAA.

Students are expected to have the ability to speak clearly and articulately in person and on the phone. Have a positive attitude and be engaging to future students. Students who apply must be at a sophomore level and have an in-depth knowledge of campus and campus life. Involvement in clubs and activities are preferred.

Required: Sophomore standing

To be eligible for student employment, an applicant must:

d. Must have the ability to lift 40lbs.

 

Background Check:

The successful applicant is required to complete a background check.  Any offer of employment is contingent on the background check.

 

Hourly Rate: $10.50
