Our IT Services department are seeking students with various skill sets to help provide technical assistance across the campus. This is an opportunity to improve skills and get professional experience in a fast paced, dynamic and fun environment. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and filled as positions become available.
A student in this position will operate and/or promote effective use of technology by providing direct technical assistance to UAS students, faculty and staff. This is an opportunity to improve marketable skills and get professional experience in a fast paced, dynamic and fun environment, all while attending your classes! Work assignments may include:
Answer questions and provide general guidance in the use of software programs such as word processors, spreadsheets, web browsers, electronic mail, and electronic conferencing.
Encourage self-sufficiency by directing technology users to information sources such as manuals, tutorials, or seminars.
Promote appropriate use of technology by familiarizing technology users with computing laws, policies, and procedures.
Install, monitor, and maintain microcomputer hardware and software. Troubleshoot non-routine equipment, software and network failures.
Operate audio and video equipment in a live broadcast environment.
It Services will typically consider applicants who can work a minimum of 15 hours/weekly and maintain a consistent work schedule throughout the academic year. All applicants must have a 2.0 cumulative GPA and maintain enrollment in at least 6 undergraduate credit hours, or 6 graduate credit hours for student employment during the academic year.
