The School of Management hires a variety of students throughout the year for various positions including Deans Office Assistant, Accounting Lab Tutor, Marketing Assistant, and other positions as needed. All positions work under intermittent supervision and require the ability to exercise independent judgment.
The School of Management hires a variety of students throughout the year for various positions. All positions work under intermittent supervision and require the ability to exercise independent judgment. The following is a list of student positions that are typically available, however, other types of positions may become available:
Dean's Office Assistant: Provide advanced clerical assistance for the Dean's Office. Typical duties may include reception, scheduling appointments, collect and maintain syllabi, create fliers, manage confidential documents, and coordinating special projects. Accounting Lab Assistant: This position is limited to students at the junior/senior level who are majoring in Accounting. Provide assistance to students taking SOM accounting courses, maintain the Accounting library, and paper grading. May include some assistance in the classroom. Requires a high level of accounting knowledge (applicant should have taken most of the 300-level accounting courses). Paper Grader: Grade homework and exams. Applicants must have sufficient knowledge in the academic area that they are grading. Marketing Assistant: Duties may include marketing, web development, and public relations. Requires technical knowledge in the areas of marketing, web development, or public relations or equivalent educational experience. Student Investment Fund Assistant: This position is limited to students who are enrolled in either BA 454/455. Duties involve assisting with financial research for the SIF. Requires knowledge of common stocks and portfolio management.
