Position Summary:

The College of Engineering Electronic Marketing and Outreach Coordinator handles day-to-day development and maintenance of the College of Engineering website, digital signage and social media content. This position will work to ensure that the College of Engineering website and social media possess consistent branding, while providing accurate and relevant information to users. The University utilizes the campus content management system (CMS) to edit website content. The position is expected to use this CMS and collaborative networks to maintain holistic and audience-centric website pathways and content, as well as similar content on social media platforms. As needed, this position will also provide support to College of Engineering departments in distance delivery of seminars and/ or classes, and design surveys in Qualtrix. Support activities may require use of various electronic databases (including TOAD, Banner, OnBase), other electronic survey tools, and other electronic platforms. The position provides assistance integrating the College's print marketing materials branding and design into the College of Engineering website. This position will also support general marketing and recruitment efforts, as well as other related duties as assigned.

Duties:

10Analytics & Compliance: Ensure compliance with UAA policy and institutional standards regarding online and social media content and branding. Implement accessibility best practices across webpages to ensure compliance with federal, ADA standards (section 508) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0 AA). Test/maintain site on multiple platforms and devices for usability. Generate analytics reports on site traffic and engagement, and make recommendations for improvement.Essential
10Assist faculty and staff with distance delivery of professional development seminars and courses, and all other tasks as assigned.Essential
20Provide support to Special Projects Officer on Outreach/Marketing tasks, as needed: Use TOAD, Banner and On-Base to access data for recruitment/marketing purposes. Other related outreach/marketing support, as needed. Assist in preparation and dissemination of newsletters, flyers, and other materials for external audiences.Essential
30Content Development & Maintenance: Maintain quality of College of Engineering-related webpages, digital signage and social media platforms to ensure content representation to internal and external audiences is consistent, accessible, engaging, and professional. Utilize active use of social media platforms to drive traffic to the college website. Assist departments to maintain department-specific web pages within the CMS. Assist departments with organizing and refining their content for web presentation and provide constructive feedback for enhancements. Create and maintain website content as needed and assist departments with support consultation requests. Take, collect, and edit photographs of College of Engineering events and activities for use on social media/college websites.Essential
30Web Strategy /Maintenance: Review web pages for search engine optimization (SEQ) performance and intuitive site navigation.Develop audience-centric content to create consistent user experience across web pages. Work to integrate design of print marketing materials with website for consistent message/design. Apply student-centered web templates with approval by ITS Webmaster. Design and implement procedures and workflows to manage content across website, digital signage and social media platforms.Essential

The University utilizes the campus content management system (CMS) to edit website content. The position is expected to use this CMS and collaborative networks to maintain holistic and audience-centric website pathways and content, as well as similar content on social media platforms. As needed, this position will also provide support to College of Engineering departments in distance delivery of seminars and/ or classes, and design surveys in Qualtrix. Support activities may require use of various electronic databases (including TOAD, Banner, OnBase), other electronic survey tools, and other electronic platforms. The position provides assistance integrating the College's print marketing materials branding and design into the College of Engineering website. This position will also support general marketing and recruitment efforts, as well as other related duties as assigned. Under the supervision of the Special Projects Officer, the Electronic Marketing and Outreach Coordinator is responsible for working with College of Engineering departments and campus partners to provide a consistent user experience across the College's various web pages and social media platforms. This position will work as part of a team to develop overarching plans, procedures, and workflows that produce consistent, relevant, and useful content. It is expected that this position will possess a keen eye for spotting potential user experience enhancements for improving College of Engineering web pages, and be responsible for the overall web visitor's experience. During peak times, such as early registration and the beginning and end of the semester, this individual will also be expected to assist the other administrative staff as needed.
 
Required Education:
Some college coursework and one year experience related to program specialty, or an equivalent combination of training and experience; OR three years of progressively responsible office/administrative experience.
 
Required Experience:
Two years job-related experience; experience maintaining website and social media platforms. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Clear understanding of content strategy practices and a vision for user experience design. Experience working with HTML, CSS, PHP, and proficiency with CMS software preferred. Experience assisting with distance delivery of seminars and/or classes is preferred. Understanding of web accessibility practices, including Section 508 and WCAG 2.0. Demonstrated knowledge of modern practices in user experience design and information architecture. Experience with TOAD, OnBase, and Banner a plus. Experience working with common hardware and software tools including web authorizing software, Adobe suite software, Google Analytics, etc.• Ability to organize, pay attention to details, follow through, efficient time management, and prioritizing followup tasks.Working knowledge of website maintenance, web page design, and social media outreach skills. Knowledge of UAA policies and procedures a plus. Experience in working with engineering students and faculty is preferred.
 
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience working in a diversified workforce in a multicultural setting. Ability to identify program, organization, system and/or client needs to resolve complex problems. Exceptional organizational skills. Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously with positive outcomes. Knowledge of electronic media best practices and industry standards. Knowledge of effective marketing and communication tools and ability to make recommendations regarding content management and design. Excellent writing, editing and oral communications skills required. Knowledge of various forms of online and print communication. Knowledge of web design and social media outreach. Knowledge of graphic design and printing processes and techniques, and proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office computer applications such as In Design, Photoshop, Word, Excel, etc.,a plus. Attention to detail and organizational skills a must.
