Position Summary: This is a Student Assistant B Step 2 $9.75/hr Labor Pool at KPC.
This is a Student Assistant B Step 2 $9.75/hr Labor Pool at KPC.
Duties/Responsibilities: Assist faculty with installations for exhibits in the KPC Gallery including preparation of gallery space prior to installation, preparation of all gallery-related paperwork and forms: room use, exhibit record, non-representation; printing and installing labels and artist statement; design and distribution of digital announcement; preparation and installation of student work for display around campus; document and track permanent on-campus art collection; monitor art studio when faculty is teaching or in meetings; assist with maintenance of studio equipment; clean studio and return tools to designated location; organize materials for various courses and assist with special projects.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: General background in studio art. Effective oral and written communication skills. Proficiency with using computers and internet. Ability to follow instructions. Dependable and punctual. Ability to assist in physical work. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Works under general or intermittent supervision. Prefer background in sculpture studio art. Able to work a flexible schedule.

NOTICE: Students must maintain enrollment and regular attendance for a minimum of at least 6 undergraduate credit hours or 6 graduate credit hours to be exempt from FICA (Social Security and Medicare) tax. A credit hour load below the minimum required for full-time student status will require the withholding of FICA tax (non-resident aliens on an appropriate visa who meet student employment criteria will continue to be exempt from FICA regardless of credit hour load). While in a student position, a student cannot hold any other type of simultaneous employment with the university.
