Position Summary: The Georgeson Botanical Garden is accepting applications for a part-time temporary position of Volunteer Coordinator to assist with the daily activities across the grounds.
This is a temporary position at the School of Natural Resources and Extension/Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station/Georgeson Botanical Garden. The individual hired will focus on coordinating volunteers to assist with maintenance of the Georgeson Botanical Garden. This person will serve as the main point of contact for current and potential volunteers. Duties include recruitment, orientation, organizing and working directly with volunteers. This person will coordinate with the Garden Manager.
The successful applicant is required to complete a background check. Any offer of employment is contingent on the background check.

100 Coordinate volunteers to assist with maintenance of the Garden including working directly with them or monitoring their progress on assignments made by the Coordinator;
Recruit, orient and correspond with volunteers and potential volunteers;
Work with GBG Garden Manager and a liaison from the Georgeson Botanical Garden Society (GBGS) Board of Directors to approve periodic scopes of work which meet the seasonal care needs of the Garden;
Provide monthly reports to the GBG Garden Manager and GBGS Board on volunteers, volunteer hours, volunteer needs and other issues;
Provide monthly reports on the number of volunteers, volunteer hours and projects accomplished.
Be responsible for the Garden phone and email, take calls and emails and refer them to the appropriate people;
Assist with tours and other special events;
Coordinate volunteer work parties.
Attend all special events.
