Position Summary: The Student Health and Counseling Center is seeking a dynamic and team focused individual with a Bachelor's Degree, in Public Health, Health Education, Health Promotion, or a closely related field, to lead our team peer health educators in facilitating bystander intervention training. Knowledge in the areas of domestic violence and sexual assaults, STIs, reproductive health and substance abuse prevention. This highly interactive position requires evenings and weekend programming.
Experience in planning and implementing educational programs and activities.
Experience in public speaking Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills Experience in community building Experience in recruiting, training and supervising peer educators. Experience in giving presentations and facilitating behavior change among college age students Experience in college student health promotion and wellness programming Experience in managing a grant with evaluation built in to activities
Knowledge in the areas of domestic violence, sexual assault, STIs, reproductive health, and substance abuse prevention is preferred
Experience in health and wellness programming and working with Peer Educators is preferred
Typical Education or Training:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Public Health, Health Education, Health Promotion, or closely related field of study.

50 Oversight of the primary sexual assault prevention outreach programs, including bystander intervention training.
Planning, organizing, and scheduling outreach programs.

50 Train, supervise, and advise five student peer health educators.
Participate in ongoing health promotion outreach programs as part of the SHCC Health Promotion team.
Implement health promotion programs for UAA students that have a high likelihood of achieving measurable improvements in health behaviors
Use evidence-based practices, primary prevention, environmental and behavioral change strategies.
