Kenai Peninsula College/UAA invites applications for its Enrollment Specialist position. The Enrollment Specialist provides direct student assistance in matters of admissions, enrollment and registration processes, and student records management. The position is responsible for accurate data entry of all course schedule information.
This is a 12-month, full time position offering benefits and tuition waivers. it is a grade 76, beginning hourly wage of $19.15 per hour, starting in May/June 2017.

SUMMARY: Kenai Peninsula College (KPC) is a campus of the University of Alaska Anchorage. The college has four locations and is comprised of:
-Kenai River Campus, Soldotna -Kachemak Bay Campus, Homer -Resurrection Bay Extension Site, Seward -Anchorage Extension Site, University Center, Anchorage This position will be located at the Kenai River Campus situated on 309 acres along the banks of the beautiful Kenai River. 1 year of college-level coursework in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Excellent written and oral communications skills. 10 CUSTOMER SERVICE: Provide excellent customer service to students, peers, faculty and staff at the Admission/Registration front desk, via phone and web and other on-site locations including training in the utilization of self-service computer technology. Regularly represent the university as a first point-of-contact; answer questions and route calls or individuals appropriately; maintain knowledge and expertise in university policies, procedures, calendars, deadlines, requirements, services and personnel. Serves as a reliable link and resource to the campus community and assists others with the navigation of the UAA/KPC websites.
Develop and maintain a desk manual related to all responsibilities and procedures related to the position, including scheduling, registration, admissions, and OnBase. Essential
20 CLASS SCHEDULING: Responsible for programming in Banner related to rolling courses and making necessary edits, including performing the accurate data entry of all course schedule information, tuition and fees into the Banner system for all course sections offered by KPC, KBC, AES and RBES. Act as a liaison with KBC, AES and RBES to develop and coordinate the semester course offerings. Provide proofs to those campuses and establish a timeline for finalizing course schedule. Collaborate with the KRC faculty office manager to make course changes, additions and cancellations for KRC daily as directed throughout the semester. Ensure information entered complies with UAA catalog requirements. Serve as the point of contact for scheduling issues and troubleshooting. Essential
20 RECORDS and ONBASE: Maintain confidentiality of student records as required by FERPA. Assist in the processing and updating of individual student records including name, date of birth and social security numbers. Performs the duties of scanning, sweeping and indexing of all student documents, paper and electronic, such as transcripts, admissions applications, admission letters, residency information, applications for graduation, degree audits, correspondence and more into the OnBase system. Accuracy in performing searches and data entry is critical in order to properly identify if a student exists in Banner. Ensure accurate indexing of documents in order to prevent delays at the UAA level in processing documents needed to complete an applicant''s file and other services the student is expecting to have completed. Provide adequate quality control for scanned images. Use the OnBase system software for sweeping, scanning and indexing documents. Assist with the periodic purging of records, ensuring that statewide guidelines and policies are being met. Essential
25 ADMISSIONS: Assist the KPC Admissions and Records Coordinator in managing the admissions process. Provide assistance by performing Banner data entry of general student information, placement scores, non-degree seeking and underage applications, admissions fees, incoming transcripts and other routine administrative duties as required. Respond in a timely manner to student/staff inquiries regarding admission records, including admission status and receipt and evaluation of transcripts. 25 REGISTRATION: Provide support for the registration area to students, faculty and staff by responding to phone and web and walk-in inquiries. Research, analyze and troubleshoot registration issues. Assist staff, faculty and students with navigating university functions, policies and procedures related to registration, including prerequisites, co-requisites, registration restrictions and course approvals. Will consistently use the Banner database and UAOnline, especially in regards to admissions and registration. Is the primary point of contact for all issues/troubleshooting regarding registration issues, and handles referrals from KPC advisors for students and others with complex registration issues.
