The College Preparatory & Developmental Studies Department (CPDS) helps under-prepared and non-traditional college students increase academic and critical thinking skills and develop the confidence to pursue their life-long learning goals. The CPDS Developmental English program offers courses in writing (WRTG), along with support courses in reading, grammar, vocabulary, and study skills (PRPE).
The incumbent will be responsible for teaching one or more developmental or undergraduate courses in a manner consistent with the specific course content description. Adjunct faculty are expected to participate in orientation activities and hold office hours appropriate for the course(s) being taught. Duties include developing a course outline, syllabus, teaching materials, and tests or other assessment methods consistent with department policies and procedures.
Master's degree in English, Reading, Secondary Language Arts, or related field to the position AND experience teaching composition to adult students.
