Position Summary: The Campus Cache is hiring a student worker for the summer 2017 term.
The MSC store, the Campus Cache, offers students, faculty, and staff quick access to needed supplies, textbooks, study guides, and clothing. The Campus Cache also serves as cashiering for the entire campus, accepting payment for tuition, fees, testing, and more.

The candidate(s) selected to work in this department will be required to work until 5:00pm. The work schedule will fluctuate based on the needs of the Campus Cache. Schedule will be discussed at time of interview.
Greet students and assist them, answering questions or directing them to the appropriate department.
Accurately post payments to student accounts in Banner.
Operate and reconcile Campus Cache register.
Answer phone, take messages, and route calls appropriately.
Assist Campus Cache staff in maintaining inventory (textbooks, supplies, etc.), keeping the sales floor stocked and accurately recording sales in the POS system.
General duties, to include but not limited to: filing, copying, faxing, dusting, stocking, merchandising, shredding, etc.
Required knowledge, skills & abilities:
Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and maintain composure.
Willingness to contribute to a team and project a professional appearance and demeanor.
Experience with multiple computer applications, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and more. Ability to speak clearly and coherently in person and on the telephone. Must be an effective communicator and have the ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills to a variety of audiences. Must be open and receptive to persons of diverse backgrounds. Must be willing to work hard, learn a variety of office tasks, and take direction from multiple co-workers. Experience with handling money. Ability to operate and reconcile cash register. Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling departmental records. Ability to alphabetize proficiently. Must have good organizational skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Knowledge of filing procedures is required.
Preferred knowledge, skills, & abilities:
6 months in an office/retail setting preferred.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation. Experience utilizing Banner. Experience with merchandising in a retail environment.
Typical education/training required:
Sufficient education/experience to perform the responsibilities of the position and develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary.
Students must maintain enrollment and regular attendance for a minimum of at least 6 undergraduate credit hours or 6 graduate credit hours to be exempt from FICA (Social Security and Medicare) tax. A credit hour load below the minimum required for full-time student status will require the withholding of FICA tax (non-resident aliens on an appropriate visa who meet student employment criteria will continue to be exempt from FICA regardless of credit hour load). While in a student position, a student cannot hold any other type of simultaneous employment with the university.
