UAF's Community and Technical College Northern Military Program is seeking an an energetic academic advisor to provide academic advising and federal educational services to military students/family members and to assist with marketing activities within the military community.
The successful candidate will:
Advise new and continuing students on UAF CTC programs, core requirements for AA and baccalaureate degrees and online tools such as UAOnline and Degreeworks.
Assist active or veteran military students and family members with specific federal requirements to include
the MyCAA (My Career Advancement Account) and GoArmyEd. Provide additional assistance for individuals seeking financial aid advising and testing.
Maintain student contact and enrollment files, monitor enrollment patterns, degree preferences and identify graduates.
Assist with marketing activities within the military community which may include participating in bi-monthly Newcomer Briefings, manning Open House booth, etc.
UAF CTC offers over forty degree and certificate programs designed to educate and train Alaskans for Alaskan jobs. Our education and training programs prepare graduates to work in occupations that keep our communities running and safe and are instrumental in making Alaska a better place to live, work, learn and recreate.
