Student Assistant C - Grounds/Landscaping Fall/Spring
The primary focus of Facilities Maintenance and Operations is to provide a safe, attractive and effective environment for the students, faculty, staff and visitors to the university to study, live and work.
Students will assist full time Landscaping/Grounds Department staff in performing various duties including mowing, sweeping, weeding, snow removal, ice control, trash pickup, and other duties as assigned on UAA campus. Students will need to demonstrate the following knowledge and/or experience: safe use of equipment including the use of hand tools; shovels, picks, brooms, scrappers and other tools common to the trade. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people, the ability to walk, lift, reach, stoop and work with fingers during the assigned shift. Must have a valid driver's license.
Culinary Arts Dining Room Student Lab Aide
The Lucy Cudy Dining Room is a laboratory classroom for Culinary Arts Students enrolled in CA 224 Hospitality Service. The role of the dining room lab aide is to assist the instructor with front-of-the-house guest services and support the training efforts of the students.
Student Assistant C
This is a labor pool from which the Division of Population Health Sciences will draw when assistants are needed to work on grant-funded and Division projects. The position will be part time. Incumbents will join faculty and researchers who are active in conducting research in various disciplines. This will include working on one or more funded projects under the guidance of Faculty and Principal Investigators.
Culinary Arts Steward - Student Assistant C
There is a thing as a free lunch! The Culinary Arts & Hospitality Administration Department is looking for a hardworking and reliable steward to join our team. Someone who will wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans. Restock items to proper storage places. Maintain dish washing machine and pot washing machine by cleaning, emptying garbage traps and de-liming. Other duties include cleaning bus station, surface cleaning of kitchen and bakery laboratories, cleaning and mopping walk-in refrigerators and storeroom, cleaning refrigerators, maintaining chemical storeroom. Work environment is fast paced and warm.

Library Student Assistant C (Technical Services): Consortium Library
The Consortium Library Technical Services Department supports the mission of the library by organizing, processing and providing bibliographical access to the library's print collection, electronic books and journals, and select archival collections that support the teaching, learning, research, and scholarship mission of UAA. The department has three areas of emphasis: cataloging, serials, and institutional repository.
The Technical Services Department student worker is responsible for checking in journals using the library's automated system, processing library materials, sorting library mail, receiving library deliveries, tracking and processing government document deliveries, shelving government documents, and other duties as assigned.
CAS Research - 2019-2020 Student Assistant A-B-C Pool
The College of Arts and Sciences is seeking applicants for its student employee pool to work with CAS faculty researchers. Successful applicants' duties may include the following: field and/or laboratory and/or other assistance with research projects. Assignments may require short turn-around time between issuance and completion of tasks with general or minimal supervision. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Must be completely dependable and be able to work independently after training. For some positions, the successful candidate must have some knowledge of laboratory procedures. Successful applicants will work on an as needed basis during the academic year and/or summer for a faculty member or faculty members with active research projects.
Required experience varies:
Student Assistant A: Ability to work under direct supervision. Duties generally are routine in nature and decision-making is limited; must be able to make routine decisions about assigned work in absence of immediate supervision. May require some previous training, experience and/or knowledge.
Student Assistant B: Ability to work under general or intermittent supervision. Duties are varied and require some independent judgment. Some college level or comparable experience may be necessary.
Student Assistant C: Ability to work under general direction. Duties require considerable knowledge and skills such as computer, research, or translation skills. Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making. Ability to assist faculty member with research, writing or assisting in writing technical reports; assisting in complex technical aspects of research projects.
ALL LEVELS require attention to detail and timeliness in completion of assigned tasks. Requires effective and timely communication skills.
Event Support Assistant - Performing & Fine Arts Division

The College of Arts & Sciences - Division of Performing & Fine Arts is recruiting for student workers to provide support as Event Support Assistants during the academic year. These positions will work on an as needed basis during the fall and spring semesters.
Event Support Assistants are responsible for ensuring that events within the Fine Arts Building operate smoothly both in front of house and behind the scenes.

The academic coach position supports the mission by assisting students to “own their learning.” They also help students: set academic goals, learn time management strategies, enhance attitudes towards school, gain study skills and note-taking strategies, prepare for tests, communicate with professors, and learn how to navigate common software programs such as Blackboard, Gmail, Microsoft Office Suite, UaOnline, and other university programs.
