The Temporary Trades position will work under general supervision, may routinely perform a variety of skilled maintenance, repair, and construction tasks in a variety of trades requiring at least apprentice level skills; to tasks within a specialized trade requiring journeyman level skills.
Positions are hired on an as needed basis, determined by the Division of Maintenance hiring authority.

Temporary Reference Librarian
The Egan library, University of Alaska Southeast, is seeking a part-time reference librarian to cover evening and weekend desk shifts. Research and reference assistance at Egan Library is provided to all members of the on-site and virtual UAS community in-person and via phone, email, and chat. Under the supervision of the Information Literacy Librarian, temporary reference librarians play an important role, maintaining full services during hours of operations. The primary focus of Facilities Maintenance and Operations is to provide a safe, attractive and effective environment for the students, faculty, staff and visitors to the university to study, live and work.
Students will assist full time Landscaping/Grounds Department staff in performing various duties including mowing, sweeping, weeding, snow removal, ice control, trash pickup, and other duties as assigned on UAA campus. Students will need to demonstrate the following knowledge and/or experience: safe use of equipment including the use of hand tools; shovels, picks, brooms, scrappers and other tools common to the trade. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people, the ability to walk, lift, reach, stoop and work with fingers during the assigned shift. Must have a valid driver's license.
