Director of the School of Allied Health
The College of Health invites applications for the position of Director of the School of Allied Health. This position has a start date of July 1, 2017.
The School of Allied Health at the University of Alaska Anchorage is one of the largest divisions within the College of Health and encompasses the following programs: Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting, Fire and Emergency Services, Pharmacy Technology, Radiologic Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Medical Assisting, Medical Laboratory Science, Physical Therapist Assistant, Dietetics & Nutrition, and Surgical Technology.
A qualified candidate will work with faculty, staff, students and community partners to promote excellence in the School of Allied Health’s academic programs. The individual will have oversight of the School’s budgets and is responsible for the recruitment, supervision and evaluation of faculty and staff. He or she will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the School and serve as an advocate for the School’s programs. Candidates are required to have demonstrated successful leadership in a collaborative team environment, significant experience developing and maintaining good public relations within an institution, significant experience working in a diversified workforce in a multi-cultural setting and familiarity with accreditation procedures and national standards in the career and technical education fields. This position requires knowledge of the healthcare industry in Alaska and healthcare workforce training needs.
Student Services Assistant
Student Services is a great first stop for prospective students. Student Services offers students help with registration, admissions, financial aid, academic advising, and more! The Student Services Assistant will be essential in assisting the department with providing these services. This position will start summer session & continue into AY17-18.
Costume Shop Assistant - Performing & Fine Arts Division

The position is based in Juneau, Alaska with field research throughout Southeast Alaska. The selected applicant will work with an interdisciplinary team to conduct scholarly research on Apex Predators, Ecosystems, and Community Sustainability (APECS) in Coastal Alaska. The objective of this project is to document the role of apex predators and environmental drivers on changes in nearshore marine resources, ecosystems, and humans using an interdisciplinary approach that integrates ecological studies, traditional knowledge interviews, and ecosystem services quantification and valuation.
